Rashmi's academic journey began at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, where she pursued a Bachelor of Commerce. Her initial dream was to study Economics at Delhi University, but circumstances led her to remain in Kolkata.
That time the Nirbhaya case was still fresh in everyone's minds, and her father, who was too concerned for her safety. So he advised her to stay close to home. She chose to stay in Kolkata and prepared to become a Chartered Accountant while pursuing graduation.
However, after six long years of study and preparation, Rashmi realised that the CA was not her true calling. It was a difficult decision, one that required immense courage to explain to society and even more to herself. But with the unwavering support of her family, especially her two sisters Rashmi decided to pivot. She embraced Plan B, entering the world of finance and audit, where she eventually shone.
Building a Career in Finance
Rashmi has built a successful career in finance and is currently working as a senior consultant at a prestigious firm, EY. She also gained valuable experience at Deloitte. But Rashmi’s journey didn’t stop at her professional achievements. Alongside her career, she discovered a passion for content creation, which soon turned her into a well-known figure in the digital world.

The Journey as a Content Creator
Two years ago, while searching for her articleship, Rashmi came on LinkedIn. Initially, it worked for her as a platform to find good job opportunities. She also started writing as her hobby. After landing a job, Rashmi deleted the app, thinking it was no longer needed.
However, her experience with colleagues made her realise the power of LinkedIn in today’s world. She rejoined the platform, started posting consistently, and before she knew it, she has amassed a significant following. Her content, which ranged from insights on finance and life lessons to personal reflections, resonated with many.
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Positivity
As her online presence grew, so did the inevitable negative comments. But Rashmi handled them with grace and wisdom. “People will come and say a lot of negative stuff, but don't stop yourself,” she says. Her approach is to ignore the negativity and focus on the positive feedback. She even acknowledges that sometimes, negative comments can work in a creator’s favour, as they tend to go viral more easily and reach a wider audience.
Her advice to new content creators is simple yet profound: “Find three people who will always support you positively. Read, research a lot about people who are already doing well in the field. Ignore everything else, focus on yourself, and be consistent. Post what you love, and do it at the same time regularly, so people recognize your content.”
Investing and Financial Wisdom from a Young Age
Rashmi’s understanding of finance is not just professional but also deeply personal. She began investing at a young age, inspired by the financial discussions she heard at home. Her father and family always encouraged her to start investing early, a lesson she has carried with her throughout her life.
Today, Rashmi still invests 40% of her income and advises others to start investing as soon as possible. “If you start investing early, you start learning early as well,” she says, highlighting the importance of financial literacy and early investment.
