Who are the founders of KIWI?
Abhinav Ahluwalia and Nupur Agarwal are the founders of Kiwi Kisan Window. They have since become torchbearers for promoting regional Indian flavors and healthy living through their thriving business. Abhinav and Nupur are Married and have been working together on their business.
Early Life and Education

Nupur was born and raised in Dehradun. She was good at studies, so after schooling, she applied for a scholarship in England and got admitted to Lancaster University. There, she completed her undergraduate studies in business. After graduation, she returned to India and started preparing for the IAS examination. Though she couldn't clear it, the journey deepened her understanding of Indian culture and food. She also started a Dehradun drum circle to create a self-expressive society.

Abhinav and Nupur first met at activist meet-ups, where they bonded over their shared vision for uplifting local communities and creating a sustainable impact. Later, in 2015-16, with Anubhav, she founded an evolved foundation with Anubhav, under which they adopted a village and farm garlic ginger.

Abhinav was born and raised in Vikasnagar, a small town near Dehradun ". He attended school there and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from HP University College of Business Studies of Shimla. He also holds an MBA in Rural Management and agribusiness from the School of Rural Management at KIIT University.
Nupur, an undergraduate from London, brought her global perspective and innovative mindset, while Abhinav contributed his deep-rooted understanding of local needs and markets. He started the Farmers Market as an initiative of the Evolve Foundation. After this, farmers and people came to them and asked if they did it often or permanently. This gave them an idea of how to start something, and this is how KIWI Kisan came about.
In 2017, the duo transformed their vision into reality by founding Kiwi Kisan Window, a brand dedicated to bringing the authentic flavors of India’s regions to every household. Their mission was clear: to celebrate IIndia's cultural diversity through ethically sourced, high-quality products that connect consumers with the origins of their food.
Building the Brand Kiwi Kisan
From the start, Kiwi Kisan Window positioned itself as a one-stop shop for India's distinctive and healthful flavors. The founders curated an impressive range of products, including kahwa from Kashmir, tea from Assam, spices from Kerala, and a variety of other regional delicacies. Their commitment to quality and authenticity resonated with customers, and the brand quickly gained traction.
The company began by operating physical stores to give customers a tangible experience of its offerings. Over the years, Kiwi Kisan Window expanded to eight physical locations and also ventured into online sales to meet the growing demand for convenience and accessibility. Their omnichannel approach allowed them to reach a wider audience, making regional Indian products more accessible to people across the country.

Financial Growth
The company started modestly but demonstrated steady growth. It generated Rs 4.3 crore in revenue in FY22–23, which rose to Rs 5.06 crore in FY23–24. By October 2024, it had already achieved Rs 4.5 crore in revenue for FY24–25 and was projected to close the year with Rs 10 crore.
Their product catalog includes 150 SKUs of healthy necessities, 50 SKUs of healthy beverages, and 50 SKUs of healthy snacks. Remarkably, 97% of their revenue comes from online sales, with offline sales contributing as the newest segment of their operations. Despite challenges such as rising costs and a temporary negative EBITDA of -2%, the founders' unwavering focus on unit economics and scalability has kept the company on a growth trajectory.

The founders' entrepreneurial journey reached new heights when they appeared on Shark Tank India Season 4. Their pitch showcased the brand's unique value proposition and their ambition to scale operations. They asked for 50 lakh for 1% equity at a valuation of Rs 50 crore. The pitch attracted offers from prominent investors, including Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Ritesh Agarwal, and Azhar Iqubal. While Vineeta and Ritesh opted out, citing concerns over store volumes and financials, Aman and Azhar showed interest, proposing Rs 50 lakh for 2% equity and a 2% royalty clause.
However, Kunal Bahl stole the show with his bold and calculated offer. Impressed by the founders' dedication and vision, Kunal initially offered Rs 1.5 crore for 10% equity. After further negotiations, he revised his offer to Rs 2.5 crore for 10%, valuing the company at Rs 25 crore. The founders accepted Kunal's deal.
