“Single Step can create positive change” -Mohit Yadav
I am Mohit Yadav, an ordinary soul with an extraordinary vision, My dream is to bring education and hope to the lives of underprivileged children. I did not complete my studies due to some problems. I grew up in a middle-class family, my early years were shaped by financial constraints, but my parents and elder brother always showered me with love and care. It was their unwavering support that inspired me to give back to people and help those who don’t have resources. I am a firm believer that life's ups and downs have a way of shaping our perspectives, and in my case, they taught me the power of empathy.
The turning point in my life came in 2020, the devastating effects of the pandemic affected everyone especially the poor. Witnessing the struggles of impoverished people, I couldn't stand idly by. The desperation in their eyes, the cries for food and the lack of essential supplies struck a chord within me. I believe that I am blessed with resources, and at that time it was my moral obligation to extend a helping hand. I distributed ration kits and provided oxygen cylinders to the afflicted people. I helped them in every way I could.
That time I realised that if something can eliminate their problem is education. So I decided to provide free education to children living on roads- slums. And so, "Single Step" was born—a testament to the belief that education holds the key to unlocking the shackles of poverty. With four dedicated teachers, we are currently illuminating the minds of 200 children in Noida Gour City area, for it is education that will shape their destinies and break the chains that bind them.
My family stands for me as the bedrock of support. Their encouragement and unwavering belief infuse my spirit with the strength to persevere. Every day, I am fueled by the blessings and gratitude of those I touch. Their smiles, their newfound hope, become the North Star guiding my relentless endeavours.
One of the fundamental principles I live by is giving a portion of my earnings. For the past seven years, I have been donating 10 per cent of my income to support various charitable initiatives. Additionally, we conduct food drives on weekends, utilizing the funds donated by compassionate individuals who share our vision of a better world. Currently, we don't have enough funds to provide food daily but soon we will.
Looking ahead, my vision for "Single Step" extends beyond just providing education. I aspire to establish an orphanage, offering a home and a nurturing environment for children who have no one else to turn to. My dream is to guide these vulnerable souls towards a brighter future through education, love, and support.
I am but one person, yet I believe in the transformative power of a single step, taken with compassion and determination. Together, we can weave ripples of positive change, step by step, making the world a better place for everyone. Simple acts, fueled by compassion, can spark profound change.
