The Entrepreneurs Journey

The story of Sonic Lamb’s founders, Navajith Karkera and Jagath Biddappa, is as compelling as their invention. Growing up as curious tinkerers, their formative years were filled with exploration and innovation.

For Navajith, it began with a Japanese home theatre system that sparked a lifelong passion for audio quality. His father’s gift of an Electronics Learning Lab further fueled his curiosity when he was just 12. He continued to learn electronics by himself through the internet and online mediums. In the future led him to countless hours of experimentation.

Navjit completed his engineering from Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in 2017. His professional journey started with Sahyadri edu. as a project associate. Later, he worked as an incubatee.

Jagath, equally fascinated by engineering and music. His early journey started at Jnana Jyothi High school. He pursued his B.tech from Sahyadri college of Engineering & Management. His professional journey started as an intern with Sahyadri edu.. Later, he worked as an incubatee.

In Jan 2018, they decided to start something of their own innovation and they founded Rapture innovation Labs.

Both met at Sahyadri College of Engineering, Mangalore. Their shared passion for innovation and technology found a home in the college’s “Dreamers” team. Together, they showcased projects at national events. It deepened their bond and paved the way for their future collaboration.

While in college, the duo was finding the perfect pair of headphones, one that would cater to their diverse tastes in music, movies, and gaming. But did not get any headphones matching to their expectations. Their disappointment with existing options and the lack of Indian-made audio innovations led them to dream of creating something revolutionary.

While working on their research project, they developed a patented technology that could reproduce the complete audio experience, not just hearing music but also feeling it through the body. This technology is implemented in the form of headphones, and that's how they make Sonic Lamb. This is how Sonic Lamb came into existence.

In 2019, during a weekend of experimentation, they stumbled upon the idea of reproducing sound through air, bone, and skin. This hybrid driver technology became the cornerstone of their innovation. The nostalgic richness of high-quality audio they had experienced as children came alive again, this time in a pair of headphones they built themselves.

What began as a personal project quickly gained momentum. The founders 3D-printed prototypes and showcased them at events. They received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Encouraged by this response, they secured patents for their technology and committed themselves to perfecting the design. Over the next three years, they developed 15 iterations of the Sonic Lamb headphones and benchmarked them against leading premium brands.

Tested and Perfected in Denmark
