Bajaj effects & Investment Limited( BHIL), formerly known as Bajaj Auto Limited, was demerged as per an order dated 18 December 2007 by theHon'ble Bombay High Court.
The demerger transferred BHIL's manufacturing operations to the new Bajaj Auto Limited( BAL) and its strategic business operations, including the wind ranch and fiscal services, to Bajaj Finserv Limited( BFS). BHIL retains all other businesses, parcels, means, investments, and arrears not included in the manufacturing and strategic undertakings.

Shri Shekhar Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj effects & Investment Limited( BHIL) and Bajaj Electricals Limited( BEL), has led multiple assiduity associations and serves on several company boards. With aB.Sc. in Mathematics from Pune University and an MBA from New York University, he began his career at Bajaj Sevashram and joined BEL in 1980, getting Chairman & Managing Director in 1990.
He converted BEL through strategic restructuring, technology upgrades, and transnational hookups, expanding into High Mast and Transmission Line Towers and forming alliances with Morphy Richards, Disney, and Midea.

As the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry for 2022- 23, he was on India's G20 B20 Steering Committee. An alumnus of Harvard Business School, he serves on several prestigious boards including the Indian School of Business( ISB) and Allianz SE.
